From Love Island puns and memes to sun cream art, the summer is a time to be enjoyed for many reasons, one of those reasons is the ever-impressive production of inventive and creative digital marketing campaigns.
Big brands follow the trends throughout the year and the summer can boost sales and awareness for many companies. As a brand, you can use the season to interact with your audience, connect with them and grow. So, after a hot and stressful week in the office, wishing you were on that plane, we decided to share with you some of our favourite summer campaigns for some much-needed inspiration.
Coca Cola – Share a Coke
This digital campaign launched in the summer of 2014 and was a huge success. Coca Cola used the sun and heat to promote one of the most thirst-quenching beverages in the warm weather. Consumers set out on a mission to find the Coke bottle with their name on. Additionally, they were also encouraged to share their experiences on social media using the #ShareaCoke hashtag.
HomeAway – What kids really want from a vacation
A lot of companies like to use children in their summer campaigns. Of course, summer holidays are the highlight of the year for many families. Whether it means day trips, holidays abroad or toys and activities to keep the children entertained, it is always a good idea to attract that family audience during the summer months.
HomeAway is a holiday rental search engine site with rentals across the world. In the ad below they put the focus back on the children, asking viewers ‘what do kids want from a vacation’.
Boots – Are you summer ready?
More recently huge brands such as Boots are tackling body confidence when it comes to their summer campaigns. Many of us dread baring all on our summer holidays but Boots are now reaching out to those people and connecting with them on a personal level.
