The idea behind My Surgery App was to allow surgeries to connect with patients in a new digital way.
As they were a new start-up business we needed to create a brand identity. We worked very closely with the client to ensure that the logo and branding we designed, complimented their company values.
Once the logo and brand were established, we began working on designs and planning out the user journey. As the users would vary, the app needed to be simple and clear enough so that people of all ages could easily navigate and find their way around.
The app was built in a hybrid framework for both iOS and Android. Users can download the app, register and select their own practice. If GPS is available at the point of download, then the nearest surgery would be shown automatically. The user has the option to allow notifications from their practice or cluster via the app.
We also built a web portal so that practice managers could easily update and manage their own app content for their surgeries. The portal gave full customisation options to allow for personalisation to the needs of the practice manager.
Our initial launch was greatly received by both GP practices and their patients. We are already working on phase two with our client.
