We’re built on honest foundations. It’s the start of a good working relationship and we’re proud to still have clients from when we first started in 2008.

There’s lots of information below, and we encourage you to get multiple quotes for your project, and ask them these questions too. If there’s anything else you’d like to know, just ask!

How much does a website cost?

We build every website to suit our clients custom needs. So, it really does depend on your requirements.

A typical business brochure website is going to be in the region of £10,000 + VAT, eCommerce £15,000 + VAT.

We have a wide range of experience of delivering high converting, visually dynamic websites, click here to see some examples.

How much does a mobile app cost?

It really does depend. We’ve built really simplistic apps right up to complicated multi-function apps.

We build using a hybrid solution, so we don’t have to build and maintain iOS and Android codelines separately which saves a lot of time and cost.

A mobile app is realistically going to start from £12,500 + VAT, dependent on functionality.

How much does a bespoke web software solution cost?

It depends. I know, that’s not very helpful, but everything we do is based on your requirements.

We are very experienced in building custom software solutions which saves a lot of time and costs. Price can vary wildly depending on the complexity of the solution, we have delivered custom solutions for £80,000 and another for £8,000. Our best work is done when we build in an aglie way, start with the key features and support our clients adding more enhancements as their requirements grow.

How long does it take?

The first step is to flesh out the brief, get your approval and book the project in for design. We aim to produce initial designs within 2-4 weeks of the receiving sign off and deposit.

Once you’re happy with the design, it will then move onto the build phase. It’ll come back to you for review and you’ll see the website coming together on our test environment. Once we’re all happy, it goes live.

We heavily rely on you to provide feedback and content so that we can proceed with testing and launching the site. For brochure WordPress websites we typically see turn around 8-14 weeks. More complicated projects will take longer.

I’m concerned about website security!

It’s something we take very seriously. We’ve invested in some amazing hosting, your website will be running on Amazon’s UK (London) servers. We’ve got multiple servers to ensure a high speed, and all our servers are updated every week.

If your website is built on WordPress, we’ll apply all the security updates every week. An SSL certificate which gives your website a green padlock and is the HTTPS bit, is included as standard.

Just to be clear, the SSL certificate and security updates are included as standard with our hosting package. It’s free for the first year and then just £15 + VAT a month thereafter. Oh, and this includes nightly backups.

When you get a quote for a website build elsewhere, always check these things aren’t an additional cost, it’s a common upsell!

Who owns the finished product?

You. We don’t normally use any third party software that causes a restriction. The solution we produce is portable, so if you want to provide your own hosting, or move to someone else, we can provide a full backup and it’s as simple as that. The only condition is that the hosting is modern, runs at least PHP 8.1, MySQL and Apache on Linux, the stuff that runs the vast majority of the internet.

What about backups?

Every night, everything is backed up to a physically separate Amazon UK server environment. The backups are kept for 7 days. Every server is also backed up in its entirety every week to another separate Amazon UK server environment.

Many many years ago, we used basic hosting with Heart Internet like a lot of other local companies still do. They had a massive failure and it took 48 hours for them to get our servers up and running. We took action and made massive investment, spending a 4-figure sum every month on our hosting and backup systems, with minute by minute monitoring around the clock.

What if you disappear?

When I first started as a freelancer, it was “What if you get hit by a bus?”, so I grew the business and employed a full-time, in-house team. There’s not much I can say, we’re a LTD company with a team, it’s the same risk as anyone else you get a quote from. We’ve bought the building we work from, so have a mortgage to pay which I feel demonstrates our commitment. We’ve got a solid financial record, we give you ownership of the solution upon project completion and we’ve been going since 2008.

Who do I contact for support?

If you need help once a project is completed and live, we have a support system in place.

All you need to do is call us on 01792 29 33 66 or drop an e-mail to support@copperbaydigital.co.uk.

We operate an on-duty rota, so please don’t contact any of the team directly, you’ll get a faster response this way!

How do I setup my e-mails?

We’ll give you all the settings you need, the mail server, username and password. If you need some additional help, then we’ve recorded these videos for you, or contact us if you need us to setup your email for you on your device.
