A question we always get asked is “How can I get my website seen on Google”.

The truth is, there is no easy answer or quick fix to SEO. However, appearing on the first page of Google is now more important than ever in order to get your website seen. 75% of users never scroll past the first page when using search engines.

There are some steps you can take to improve your SEO and Google search position, check them out below.

Consistent Content

Google likes to see that a website is up to date and current. You can show Google your website is up to date by creating a blog page and frequently adding new blogs on a weekly or bi-weekly basis, this will aid you in your attempt to getting to page one of Google searches.

Top Tip: Make sure you get links and images in there too, Google loves this.

Metadata

A huge element of SEO is researching and understanding the keywords and phrases your target audiences are searching for.

You should then use this data to curate relevant content including these key phrases. There are many plugins you can use to help perfect your metadata when it comes to website content. A plugin we love to use is Yoast.

Yoast gives you the ability to specify your meta title and description which are the details that will be shown in search engines, take a look at this example to the right.

Hang in there

An important thing to understand when practising SEO is that, although it can be very successful in achieving your aims, it will take time. SEO will not improve your search positions overnight, it is a process and can often be a long one.
